Whatever life blog

whateverlife.com is a great example of how the internet has opened a completely new world for entrepeneurs. People can start small projects, for their own personal interests at affordable prices, and turn them into lucrative enterprises. Ashley Qualls was able to turn her hobby of creating myspace layouts into a business that is making her millions of dollars. She has shown a business savvy that has even been recognized, and used as inspiration from her peers. At one point in the column, a message was shown from a person that is ten years older than Ashley, praising her for the work that she has done. The ability for Ashley to utilize advertising on line has helped to push her website over the top. She started out by using google's profit sharing advertising program, and that is when she began to see that possibility of larger profits. The flexibility of the internet, along with her business sense, allows her to constantly stay ahead of the game and in tune with what her niche audience is looking for. Ashley was complimented for being able to create a website that feels like it is for teenage girls, because she is a teenage girl with the resources available to put out the product. Ashley is even beginning to think about the future of the website, noting that she might have to start hiring some people that are even younger than she is.

As lucrative as it seems to go out on a limb with web-based advertising, I still want to be more involved in an agency setting once I get into my career. After the great dot com crash awhile back, I'd just be paranoid of a fickle audience again.
